Baritone vocal range: A2 to A4
A trained baritone typically sings from A2 to A4, two octaves. Most people who sing for fun use a narrower comfortable range inside that, often around B2 to F♯4.
How to tell if you're a baritone
Voice type is mostly about where your voice sits comfortably, not the single highest note you can reach. Measure your lowest and highest easy notes; the type whose range has the closest middle is your most likely fit. Neighbouring types overlap a lot: bass (E2–E4) and tenor (C3–C5).
Warm-ups for baritones
- Vocal warm-up for baritones (B2–F♯4): high notes without straining
- Vocal warm-up for baritones (B2–F♯4): singing in tune
- Choir warm-up for baritones (B2–F♯4)
Ranges: typical ranges of trained voices (McKinney, The Diagnosis and Correction of Vocal Faults). Our range test reads E2–C6.
